Q - How why and when did you become a Bass guitarist?

A -  Music has always been a big passion, and the eagerness to perform musically has been there since my first drum kit at the age of 10. Unfortunately the next door neighbour complained so much about the noise that they were sold off by my parents without too much consultation and a keyboard took their replacement. After many lessons and now being the centre of attention at family parties playing silent night and the Hovis bread tune, i started to got bored. It is now about 15 years ago when i picked up the Bass for the first time and i have since very rarely let it out of my hands. A number of lessons from James Finnegan of Hue and Cry got me on track. This guy knows his stuff with a bass guitar! The Bass as far as i am concerned is the most important instrument in any band. Although Jim Gerry Alan and geo would all disagree i am sure!

Q - Why Wishbone Ash?

A - To be honest i didn't know too much about Wishbone prior to the band setting up. After a few listens to Argus it became evident of the challenge involved for everyone musically. This made things a bit more interesting. I never get tired of playing these songs because of the bass movement. It keeps me on my toes and in all has made me a better bass player, using techniques and changes i had never seen or heard before.

Q - What is your musical influences?

A - I like all kinds of music to be honest. The Stranglers, AC/DC, Crowded House. Dare i say it....Neil Diamond!!! Too many to mention and a variety wider than the clyde!

Q - What song do you most love to play?

A - Thats an easy one, - Sometime World by Wishbone Ash. A great song and brilliant bass structure.

Q - What gear do you use on stage:

A - Thunderbird bass with Crate BT220 - Octave and Distortion foot switch.
