Georges profile. George is neither the oldest nor the youngest in the band. Having played in many bands through the years George entered a self imposed period of inactivity. However following the inevitable marital split over musical differences and a chance conversation with Stevie he sat in on an audition for the vacant drummers position within the band. A keen Ash fan with the music in his veins it was love at first sight and just the fresh push the band needed. George loves gigging but detests rehearsing and is a lifelong member of the optimistic Well get that bit right on the night club. Musical influences:A wide range of obscure stuff including, Wishbone Ash (of course), Warren Zevon World Party, El Rayo-X, Aimee Mann, The Cardigans and a large private computer file containing female love songs and assorted pop tat. Wishbone Ash song:Anything off the new album including in particular Your Dog. Favourite song to play would be Throw Down The Sword. Other interests:Football- In particular Glasgows main team, Partick Thistle. Also enjoy seeing both sides of the old firm take a hiding. Gear:Pearl Export 7 piece with Pearl and assorted hardware. Double bass pedal. 14 hi-hats. Assorted cymbals 6 8 10 splash. 8 china. 10 12 15 16 18 crash. 22 ride. 16 china. or Yamaha expanded DT Express electronic kit for use on cheesy cabaret nights. Nice. Ambition.To enjoy playing to people who enjoy listening. And for all the boys and girls in the world to just get on a wee bit better. Oh and to keep pace with Stevies bass lines.
